Lee-En Chung, PE & LEED AP

 

Ms. Lee-En Chung, PE is noted as the first female in Florida to have earned both the general contractor license and professional engineer license. After growing up in Sarasota, she graduated from Columbia with a civil engineering degree. Having worked for NBC in NYC, she became a young project engineer for Clark Construction on the jobsite full-time at the 10-story AARP headquarters in Washington, DC and then the 20-story VA Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens. 

 

Back in Sarasota, Lee-En founded Ivy Ventures – a construction consulting firm providing pay app inspections for banks to monitor the construction loans and Owner’s Rep services. She was on the Owner’s Rep team for Sarasota County on the design and construction of the spring training facilities for the Baltimore Orioles. For the City of Sarasota, she served as Owner’s Project Manager on the award-winning St. Armands Parking Garage.   

 

Lee-En was appointed to Florida’s Construction Industry Licensing board under the Department of Professional and Business Regulation. In 2023, the City of Sarasota Commission selected her to the Purple Ribbon Committee, which she chaired, to conduct a feasibility study on the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. She has participated in Leadership Sarasota, Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, Leadership Tampa Bay and Leadership Florida. She has completed the 2014 More/Fitness Women’s Half Marathon in NYC and the inaugural Skyway 10K in 2018 over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. She also loves traveling to Taiwan, Singapore, Dubai and Morocco.
