On September 10th, Jose N. Gomez, PE (Intertek-PSI) spoke about an abandoned outfall pipe running between two houses was found to be broken, causing water and soil fines to migrate through it and resulting in notable settlement issues, particularly in the eastern house. This led to cracks in walls, tiled floors, and pool decks. To address the problem, a comprehensive geotechnical exploration was conducted. These surveys assessed the condition of the pipe and the soil beneath the properties, identifying areas of reduced soil stiffness and anomalies affecting the stability of the structures. The work has since been completed.
